Querying Semistructured Temporal Data

چکیده
In this paper we propose the GEM Language (GEL), a SQLlike query language, which is able to extract information from semistructured temporal databases represented according to the Graphical sEmistructured teMporal (GEM) data model.

Capturing and Querying Multiple Aspects of Semistructured Data
Motivated to a large extent by the substantial and growing prominence of the World-Wide Web and the potential benefits that may be obtained by applying database concepts and techniques to web data management, new data models and query languages have emerged that contend with the semistructured nature of web data. These models organize data in graphs. The nodes in a graph denote objects or value...
متن کاملUsing Nested Tables for Representing and Querying Semistructured Web Data
This paper proposes an approach for representing and querying semistructured Web data, which is based on nested tables allowing internal nested structural variations. Our motivation is to reduce the complexity found in typical query languages for semistructured data and to provide users with an alternative for quickly querying data obtained from multiple-record Web pages. We show the feasibilit...
متن کاملSimulation Unification: Beyond Querying Semistructured Data
This article first reminds of simulation unification, a non-standard unification proposed at the 18th International Conference on Logic Programming (ICLP 2002) for making logic programming capable of querying semistructured data on the Web. This article further argues that, beyond querying semistructured data on the Web, simulation unification has a potential for Web querying of multimedia data...
متن کاملConcept based querying of semistructured data
In the last years, semistructured data has played an increasing role within the database community. Many query languages have been developed for querying semistructured data and in particular XML data sources. XML data often is described by means of DTDs and more recently through XML schemas. This paper is about querying semistructured data by making use of the schema and the types described th...
متن کاملIndexing and Querying Semistructured Data Views of Relational Database
The most promising and dominant data format for data processing and representing on the Internet is the Semistructured data form termed XML. XML data has no fixed schema; it evolved and is self describing which results in management difficulties compared to, for example relational data. XML queries differ from relational queries in that the former are expressed as path expressions. The efficien...
